Interesting title, I know. First, tomatoes. We planted 6 tomato plants in our garden this year because we wanted those nice big tomatoes good for slicing this year. Last year we had trouble with them and this year is quite the opposite. Perhaps more amazing is the over-abundance of cherry tomatoes we've had again this year. Did you catch the strange thing? We didn't plant any cherry tomato plants!!! They all were volunteers from last year and as my mom put it, "all you have to do is look at those things and they grow!" A little jealous? :) Kidding, Mom!
Second, salsa. My super brother-in-law shared his fabulous salsa recipe with us and just the other night I made an entire blender full of delicious salsa, starring the tomatoes from my own garden! We're all enjoying it so much and since I've got more tomatoes that have ripened I need to get the other ingredients to make more! Yesssssssssss.
Third, sleep. Caleb is sleeping through the night!!! He's been doing it for about 2 weeks and I love him even more for getting to this point so early! We put him down about 10:30pm and I'm not summoned until at least 7am! Sleep, glorious sleep! The only downer is that he'd much rather be held to sleep during the day which makes it impossible to get anything done while both kids are napping in the afternoon, but that's really okay I guess.
Caleb had his 2-month-old check-up on the 31st and again was found to not be lacking. He'd almost doubled his birth weight in 2 months! Most kids don't do that until about 4 months. He is on the short side, though, but that just makes for extra cute fat little thighs to squeeze. :)
Abby seems to be enjoying Caleb a little more as the weeks pass - she definitely into the "mothering" phase with him. Today I heard her say, "Oh, do you need your paci? I get it for you. Here you go, Cawub." She also likes to choose which diaper he is going to wear when I'm changing him. They all have different designs so she chooses the one she wants him to wear at any given time. Uh, yeah, she's a girl! I love my kids so much! Oh yes, and then there is the wonderfully helpful hubby who doesn't mind a bit to take a turn with the baby or give the toddler some special attention. God is good.
