Here is our awesome new rain barrel that Chuck built last week, not without the help of his trusty sidekick in pink! We have no idea if it works yet because we haven't had a drop since Chuck put it out. Of course. My parents gave us some instructions they got from Ace Hardware (I suspect they are online or I'd be glad to post them, if anyone is interested) and it was pretty quick and easy.
It will be nice to be able to have lots of free water on tap to water our garden, berry bushes, and flowers. Side note about the garden - everything is doing great and I'm anxious to begin harvesting. We are enjoying quite a few strawberries now and if we can keep the birds out we'll have twice as many! There are some cute little raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries outside too.
Hopefully the next outside project will be a compost bin. We'll see what happens.
