Boomtown Half-Marathon

So by now you probably know that Chuck ran a half-marathon last Saturday. That's right. 13.1 miles. Good for him! (I doubt I will ever do this.) The run was in Joplin, MO and was part of their Boomtown Days that they have every year. We thought about checking it out a little and then decided to scratch that since there were 2 pools at our hotel. Whee!

The run was long and tiresome for Chuck but he finished and even though he didn't finish as quickly as he hoped and thought he would, I think it is pretty awesome that he finished. Period. He had a running partner from church and that helped a lot, but he's said that he learned that counting on God to always be with him, even in running a half-marathon, is what matters most.

Alas, I don't have a picture of them crossing (at the same time, holding hands up in the air) because I was too darn excited to get right there. I think the people putting on the event emailed one to Chuck. I'll see what I can find. :)
