Drum roll, please... Caleb is officially one year old! Yesterday I was reflecting on the past year in relation to Caleb. (I'm not leaving Abby out, just giving Caleb his time on his special day.)
I was remembering how my parents arrived the evening before Caleb was born and how relieved I was to know that they would be taking care of Abby while Chuck and I were gone. I was remembering the anticipation of meeting my son and finally getting to see what he looks like. I was remembering holding him for the first time, freshly born and messy, but not caring a bit. He was so quiet and content. I laughed at myself for getting so worked up at times over his lousy naps (mostly because Mommy needed a break!) and found myself staring at him wondering how a year has already passed. And thanking God for the gifts he's given me in my family members.
I'm thankful for this little boy and look forward to what year 2 holds. Teeth for sure, as none have made their debut yet. :) Caleb, I love you more than you will ever know.
