I don't know if you are into meal-planning, but I am! Not only does it decrease stress over what I'm going to to fix for dinner each day, it decreases the chaos that erupts around 4pm as I begin to think about getting dinner ready (unless it's a crock-pot day!), but it also helps me stay within our budget! Bonus!
I'm thankful that God has made it possible for me to stay home with the kids and one of my jobs in doing that is to stretch Chuck's paycheck as much as I can and in valuable ways. Cutting coupons and meal-planning (so that we eat almost all of our meals at home) are the 2 biggest ways that I feed our family healthy and budget-friendly meals.
Recently I was reading a magazine from church and an article about meal-planning caught my eye. Go figure! As I read I was happy to see that I employ most of the tactics that the author does to feed her family on a budget. Her personal challenge is to create dinners for $5 or less. That's $5 total for the family, not per person. AND, she has a website! You can find her here and I think you'll really like her site. I've found a couple of her dinners that I want to try, although nearly all of the dinners I already make would qualify for her site. Yesssssssssss.
Happy dinnering!
