On Saturday our good friends from SWBTS, the Nibletts, had an egg hunt at their church. We like to attend events at their (big) church because we get to visit with them and their families and we get ideas of things that our little church can try to do to impact our community and world.
On Sunday we went to church and I was especially looking forward to hearing Chuck's message. Perk of being the preacher's wife. The un-perk is that he had to be at church before 8am for various things so the kids checked out their Easter baskets without him there. But, we were glad to have Chuck home the rest of the day and made Resurrection Rolls after naptime. You can find the info here. They are easy and delish!
Also on Sunday, we had an Easter egg hunt at our church during the Sunday School hour. God was gracious to hold off the rain and put the sun out so the youth boys could put the ~ 1,030 eggs on our front yard while Chuck went through the Resurrection eggs with the kids. Some of the parents were in the room too and 2 people were saved during that time! Yes!! I had so much fun putting on the egg hunt and I'm thrilled that eternity has changed for two more!
The child has not stopped talking about these little bunnies at the egg hunt. It was the highlight for her!
Caleb made up this game of wearing the giant eggs. In the foreground is our friends' daughter. Ha!
I do not like how old Caleb looks here. Just opening a few little treats.
Are there really any words for this?
Very carefully opening the eggs one at a time then emptying the contents and eggs into his basket.
Setting up for, and talking about, the resurrection rolls.
Caleb just wanted to eat everything. Abby had LOTS of fun, but is prissy about getting messy so she didn't appreciate dipping the marshmallows in the melted butter. :)
