8 Years Ago

Well this is a week or so late but that's okay. I was thinking yesterday about what day it was because I had to reset my watch after letting Abby play with it. I traded it to her for the cup I use to wash her off when she's in the tub. Anyway... so I'm resetting my watch and think, "Oh, last week it was 8 years ago that Chuck and I had our first date. Whoa, that's a long time." So we talked about it and reminisced and it was fun. But, we also realized that 8 years really is a long time in a time when so many marriages hit rough patches and then crumble after 6 or 12 months. We too have had rough patches in our nearly 5 years of marriage but I am thankful for the firm foundation in Christ that we have, for the examples in our families, and for a man who is totally committed to me. So, while we can't remember the exact date of our first date, which was 1/26/01 I think, we do know that it in January 2001 right after we got back from Christmas break our freshman year of college - we were both 18! That seems sooo young now! :) There's my mush, hope you like it!
