Today my precious little girl is 23 months old! She'll be 2 next month?!? Where in the world have 2 years gone? It seems like a zillion things have happened in that time including 2 moves, a fantastic new job for Chuck, and getting pregnant with baby #2! Anyway, I'm so thankful for the 2 years that God has given me with Abby, even those sleepless nights that we're having again right now because she is sick. I realized something remarkable this morning as I was reading to Abby: I was holding my daughter and she was listening to me read AND I was holding my son inside of me who was also listening to me read. He was kicking and I smile at the thought of the day that Abby feels him kicking while we are reading. Anyway, I'm thankful to our great God who has given me these precious gifts.
A few days ago it was too cold to play outside but I had a craft ready to go and it turned out to be a great hit so I thought I'd share in case anyone else wanted to give it a whirl. Abby and I made a bird feeder out of a pinecone, peanut butter, and birdseed. Spread the pb on, put the seeds on (she loved that), hang it up and watch the birds. Abby loves to see the birds on her feeder - she gets so happy when she sees them eating. If you ask her what they're doing she'll tell you they're hungry so they're eating. When you ask her what they are eating you get this reply very matter-of-factly: pancakes. I love her imagination! God is so creative!
