Fire In The Hole (or Oven)!
A couple of days ago I did something I've never done before - I started a fire in the oven! Who does that?!? The story is this: I was preheating the oven for something (can't remember what it was now), the oven was ready, I open said oven to find a pretty nice fire blazing inside! Okay, shut the oven, turn it off, and figure out what to do next. Chuck looks for the fire extinguisher only to discover we don't have one (oops) and then he and my mom decide baking powder will work and it did! Now I'm left with a gooey mess in the oven and a 2-year-old with wide eyes! Ha ha ha Abby likes to point to the oven now and say "Fire! Fire!" as if I need yet another reminder of not triple-checking to be sure the oven was empty. What happened was that a cake decorating bag of frosting fell off the tray it was on and landed on the coil, caught fire, and permanently adhered to the decorating tip. The only good thing of all this is that the kitchen briefly smelled like roasting marshmallows... So, I have a dinosaur oven that is not self-cleaning but continuous cleaning, whatever that is, so my mom Googled what to do and sure enough what she found worked. Thanks, Mom for cleaning up my mess and thanks to Chuck for making sure the house didn't burn down. You may also be interested to know that in the same day as this incident I also broke a juice glass and the garbage disposal. Nice.

Well, we can be thankful that this post is not titled "Fire All Over the House." Maybe you should eat out for a while just to stay away from the kitchen!
You're right, Jane! I'm sure the church wouldn't have been thrilled with being the proud owners of a fire-engulfed parsonage! Ha ha!
